Remarks: Regarded as a synonym or subspecies of veliferum by some authors (e.g., Wilson & Meyer 1969, 1985; Wilson 1988). Retained as a separate species in most recent works (e.g., Savage 2002; Liner 2007; García-Vázquez, Canseco-Márquez, Gutiérrez-Mayén & Trujano-Ortega 2009; Wilson & Johnson 2010; McCranie 2011).
Distribution: Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico (Chiapas, Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Oaxaca, Puebla, Queretaro, San Luis Potosi, Tabasco, Tamaulipas, Veracruz).
