Remarks: Previously regarded as a synonym of modesta (e.g., Peters & Donoso-Barros 1970; Talbot 1979), or as a taxon of uncertain status (e.g., Vanzolini & Ramos 1977). Validity as a separate species confirmed by Cacciali, Martinez & Köhler (2017).
Distribution: Paraguay.
