Remarks: Includes amphiboluroides, previously placed in a separate genus, Caimanops, and nobbi, previously included in Amphibolurus. Some authors retain Caimanops as a valid genus (e.g., Bush, Maryan, Browne-Cooper & Robinson 2007; Cogger 2014).
Distribution: Australia, New Guinea.
Reported from: Australia (Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland [incl. Fraser Island, Torres Strait Islands], South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia), Papua New Guinea (Eastern New Guinea).

Remarks: Previously regarded as a synonym of bilineata (e.g., Cogger, Cameron & Cogger 1983; Midtgaard 2019). Revalidated as a separate species by Melville, Date, Horner & Doughty (2019), although Wells & Wellington (1984) had already treated it as such. Records of bilineata from the Torres Strait Islands and New Guinea are tentatively assigned to jugularis, being the species with the closest distribution in the Australian mainland.

arnhemica: Arnhem Dragon
Remarks: Previously regarded as a subspecies of albilabris (e.g., Storr 1974; Midtgaard 2019). Storr, Smith & Johnstone (1983) treated albilabris as monotypic, suggesting that they regarded sobria as a distinct species, as did Wells & Wellington (1984). Validity as a separate species was supported by Melville, Date, Horner & Doughty (2019).
