Contents: 2 species, none of which are endemic.
Endemism: 0% 100%
Remarks: Eaton, Martin, Thorbjarnarson & Amato (2009) suggested that a third species may deserve recognition.
Distribution: West and Central Africa.
Reported from: Angola (incl. Cabinda), Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo-Brazzaville, Congo-Kinshasa, Equatorial Guinea (Rio Muni), Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, (incl. Bijagos Archipelago), Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, Uganda.

Remarks: Previously regarded as a subspecies of tetraspis (e.g., Wermuth & Mertens 1977). Revalidated as a separate species by Eaton, Martin, Thorbjarnarson & Amato (2009). Exact distribution boundaries between the two species are unclear. Angolan records of tetraspis are tentatively assigned herein to osborni.
Distribution: Angola (incl. Cabinda), Congo-Brazzaville, Congo-Kinshasa, Uganda.

Remarks: Previously included osborni. May now be extinct in Gambia (Emms, Jambang, Bahl, Mankali, Paziaud & Barnett 2007) and in Uganda, where it has not been seen since the 1940's (Spawls, Howell, Drewes & Ashe 2002). Exact distribution boundaries between the two species are unclear. Angolan records of tetraspis are tentatively assigned herein to osborni.
Extinct in: Gambia.
Distribution: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo-Brazzaville, Equatorial Guinea (Rio Muni), Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau (incl. Bijagos Archipelago), Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo.
