Previously referred to as marchi.
Sánchez-Vialas, Calvo-Revuelta & García-París (2018) showed that marchi is identical with the earlier described Algiroides hidalgoi Boscá 1916,
previously considered a taxon of uncertain status (e.g., Buchholz 1964; Salvador & Palacios 1981).
Consequently, they synonymized the former taxon with the latter, to comply with the rules of priority.
Although not all works have adopted this taxonomy, it is followed herein, since the name hidalgoi appears to be used more frequently now than marchi.
